The zoo again

The weather was so gorgeous here this weekend - I mean come on August and sunny, no humidity, and high of 80....how could we not go outside? So we headed to the zoo again! Get our money's worth out of that membership!
After a longer than anticipated trek to get there - single lane traffic on Rt 76 - an hour to go FOUR, yes, four miles....why? They were trimming trees on the side of the road. ARGH! But while we were in traffic got to see half a mile of Harley's obviously out on some sort of group trip -t hat was pretty cool. And then when an ambulance when past us, two trucks behind us, came up side by side and blocked the traffic behind us...so the view from my rear view was all crome...actually pretty cool, the kids loved it. So we made the most of our time in traffic.
Of course as soon as we got inside the kids were starrrr-viiiinggg..... so we hung out by my favorite statue the Impala fountain..while K enjoyed a Starbucks (yes they put one IN the zoo) muffin...and no I did not get anything! Proud of me? .I really need to dig up the photos of ME in high school by this thing.....it really is pretty and I actually caugh a rainbow on film.....
Teehee.....here is K pretending the baby bear on the statue is texting on her phone......
K's fav....the elepahnts...altho surprising we did notice Petal's absence. She passes away soon after we were there on Mother's Day. She wasthe oldest elephant in captivity in North America. She had the most personality of all of the elephants. She was born in Philly.
