As also a parent of ADHD kids - I think Stacy summarized it beautifully.

And some inspiration today....thought it fit...
It is better to light candles
than to curse the darkness.
It is better to plant seeds
than to accuse the earth.
The world needs all of our power
and love and energy,
and each of us has something that we can give.
The trick is to find it and use it,
to find it and give it away.
So there will always be more.
We can be lights for each other,
and through each other’s illumination
we will see the way.
Each of us is a seed,
a silent promise,
and it is always spring.”

Now my struggle today since making the decision to start the biofeedback with K. is this - am I trying to change her too much? For her benefit or society's and yes , mine? Or am giving her the chance to be more successful in life? She is gorgeous and beautiful just the way she is, do I owe it to her the chance to not have to struggle so much? To not feel so negative about herself when a teacher or other teen judges her? Or do I owe it to her to love her the just the way she is, and leave it that way? Is that enough?

Andi, if your kid needed major oral surgery to be able to chew, and thrive and function, wouldn't she already have had it?
How about braces? If her appearance was a mess, and you could do something about it to lessen the judgements from her peer group, wouldn't you do everything you could for Kaite?
That's all you're doing here, now. Just like braces, it'll probably be painful at first, but the results...
