While I refuse to concede to menopause yet, I can totally relate to the cartoon!
Scene the other night here at home.
Me: Guys come put your clothes away (altho K insists I said "move your clothes") - they were folded on the kitchen table and I wanted to set it. K comes in picks up her pile, walks over to the dining room and sets them on that table.
M: I told you to put that away that isn't away.
K: No you said move them.
Me: And you think I would WANT you to put them in the dining room? - take them upstairs.
K: then why didn't you say that!?
Me: I did!
K: No you didn't you said move them. It's not my fault you weren't clear. ::said dripping with 14 year old attitude::::
Now use your imagination and those of you with teenage girls can well imagine the scene that continued to ensue - until the point where I made a *parental declaration* - you know those - "From this day on, when I say "Move your stuff or put your stuff away", and any other combination of those words - no matter what it is,or where it is, it is intended to be moved to your room, not any other place in this house. Have I made myself clear?"
And then I shuttered and thought oh dear lord - I've become my parents.
