This would be one reason....
God sends me something to laugh at every day.
I can't remember if I have written before how Zoey loves to lay in the sunbeams. Must have been a cat in a previous life. She will scritch herself up as small as she can and try to lay just in the beam. Well, since winter has came, the sun in the morning comes in the side window, near my desk, but also right at the table...so she has been getting frustrated with trying to lay comfortably. I looked over today and this is what I saw. Sound asleep. Yes, her head is laying on the rung of the chair. This little, well not so little, gal cracks me up. I am never at a loss to find some silly dorky thing she is doing during the day. Ishoudl write an "Everything I need to know I learned from my dog" article....she takes life as it comes, makes the best of each situation - including using a chair rung as a pillow if it means you get to lay in the sun, enjoys a warm sunbeam, makes her own happiness - this may include playing with a soccer ball in the backyard all by herself if need be. She loves each of us and anyone else that may be in the house for more then 3 seconds, with complete abandon, and totally unconditionally, and shows us by wagging her tail so hard she can knock you over and hit herself in the face. (Yes - she has done this, and you should see the look you get when she does it!) How much happier would all of us be as humans if we just took a moment to slow down, enjoy a warm sunbeam, make the best of each situation we may be in, make our own happiness by doing something each day that we find fun and love with total openess and show those we love that attention every day. The world would be a nicer place indeed.
I still say grown ups need recess!
