Kaite

I was just messing around today and took these shots of Kaite. She was sitting on the couch playing with the computer, and I realized I need pictures for todays blog. I hate the big teeth of the "say cheese" shot, so I just told her I was playing around and she should pose. I am trying to learn to play with my camera angles and having the subject off center. I love how those sorts of shots look when other people take them.

Then the "posed" Kaite gives way to the "real" Kaite! The one who loves to be silly and make funny faces. I have no idea where she gets that!? I absolutely love this last shot. There are more, but there is only so much room in one blog post.
As I looked at these shots, it really started to dawn on me how mature she is becoming. Yet, she remains sweet and immature in so many ways. I guess that is one of the reasons for the "tween" label. Sometimes she can be so serious. I often have to remind her to smile. I also realized she is nearly exactly the age I was when my parent's split and my entire world changed. I am so glad she and Chris are blessed with a solid happy home where they know they are loved and safe. I know her first "life altering" event will come soon enough. As long as it is within my power to keep it from her I will, and I will be here to help her through when I can't keep her from getting hurt.
