I was just messing around today and took these shots of Kaite. She was sitting on the couch playing with the computer, and I realized I need pictures for todays blog. I hate the big teeth of the "say cheese" shot, so I just told her I was playing around and she should pose.

Then the "posed" Kaite gives way to the "real" Kaite! The one who loves to be silly and make funny faces. I have no idea where she gets that!? I absolutely love this last shot. There are more, but there is only so much room in one blog post.
As I looked at these shots, it really started to dawn on me how mature she is becoming. Yet, she remains sweet and immature in so many ways. I guess that is one of the reasons for the "tween" label. Sometimes she can be so serious. I often have to remind her to smile. I also realized she is nearly exactly the age I was when my parent's split and my entire world changed. I am so glad she and Chris are blessed with a solid happy home where they know they are loved and safe. I know her first "life altering" event will come soon enough. As long as it is within my power to keep it from her I will, and I will be here to help her through when I can't keep her from getting hurt.
