Mama’s Holiday Wish List Meme
TodaysMama (link to: http://bit.ly/tmwishlist) and GameStop (link to: http://bit.ly/gamestop10) are giving away a sleighful of gifts this holiday season and to enter I’m sharing this meme with you.
1. What is your holiday wish for your family?
Considering the year we have had, I just wish an uneventful, peaceful holiday. Time spent together. Great memories and lots of love.
2. What is your Christmas morning tradition?
Hmmm…..the kids are always wearing their new pajamas. We make them sit on the steps and wait for us to “check if Santa was still here” – aka, turn on the tree, start the coffee, get the camera ready…..then we usually have breakfast with my sister and her family.
3. If you could ask Santa for one, completely decadent wish for yourself, what would it be?
Hmmm…one wish for myself would be the next entire year to be drama free!! But if you are talking material things……hhmmmm….how about a nice long trip to Italy and Greece, filled with wine, olives and good cheese!?
4. How do you make the holidays special without spending any money?
We started a tradition when the kids were small. We put our jammies on, and warm slippers, climb in the car one night before Christmas and drive around looking at the Christmas lights. I guess if you count that we usually stop for hot chocolate, we do some “some” money but very little. They kids, even now as teens, still ask when we are going.
5. What games did you play with your family growing up?
The only thing I really remember, that was played when I was smaller was pinochle at family holidays. My sister and I used to call it pig-a-nuckle. When we got older, we played game after game of Rummy 500 or Uno with my grandmother. When I was in high school I used to go over almost every saturday and we would play two handed pinochle, or Trivia Pursuit. She was the only one who ever really took the time to sit down and play with us most of the time. I do also remember, my other grandparents had a dice bowling game that we used to play with each other when we were there.
6. What holiday tradition have you carried on from your own childhood?
I really don’t remember anything we did regularly for a “tradition” as a kid. We wound up at my grandparents for dinner at every holiday….we don’t even usually do that now. I hope I have started plenty of tradition for my kids.
7. Where would you go for a Christmas-away-from-home trip?
Disney! I would love to see the holiday decorations. Or NYC. I think that would be cool at Christmas. Just me and hubby? Some place WARM!
8. Check out GameStop (link to: http://bit.ly/gamestop10) and tell us, what are the three top items on your GameStop Wish List this year?

Here's to wishing for at least a MOSTLY drama free year for you. :)
Oh - and I used to take the kids around the city to look at all the lights back home, too! (Though we never did that in our jammies. My luck, the car would die, and I'd have to go for help! HA!)
