Installement #1 – Disney - Travel

DSC_0498-1

Further proof that my kids are weird.

In a loveable goofy way.

Wasting some time at the airport.

And this is what Dad’s get to do on the plane, while mom is across the aisle, entertaining one, and holding the barf bag for another.

Two legs of the first trip, coincidently he took that seat, on both legs home. Hmmmm…..a plan?

Then there is the ever convenient ever popluar, oh so grateful they have it, Disney buses!

The most fun I believe is the monorail.

And this was the primary mode of transportation for the week! Good old shoe leather express. Took this picture the last day, waiting to get back on the bus to go to the airport. I love how it turned out.

It dawned on me Monday when I got into the car, how long it had been since I drove. It felt good to be “in control” again.  Then as I was piecing together this post in my head, it dawned on me, how many times in the past week our lives were in someone else’s hands.

A bit dramatic maybe but true none the less.

From the pilots who took off and landed us safely four times (I don’t fly well and do NOT like taking off and landing at all), to the bus drivers who took us everywhere we needed to go all week,   (barreling down the highway at 60 mph, no seat belts and sometimes standing holding nothing but  a strap),  to and from the airport as well as all the resorts and parks, down to the ride operators and maintenance men who make sure the rides were safe. We don’t really appreciate sometimes how grateful we should be to these people. It amazed me, and I am not sure why it still does, how rude some people could be to our bus drivers this week. I said, “Hi” getting on, greeted them with a smile, and a nice “Thank you have a nice night” when we got off.  It galled me to see how many times people marched right on by without so much as a word to the person who was taking them were they wanted to go.  I was so proud of my kids that they did not need to prompted to be polite. At least I have something to make me proud.

Still figuring out some semblance of order and train of thought to post these pictures…..shall tomorrow be silly hats? or characters? or park by park? My favorites??

Hmmmm….I wonder…..
