So how does Daddy decide to keep the kids busy during our latest installment of winter sleetsnowwhatisit storm last night?
Give the kids a peek into the past.
He went into the attic and dug out his old baseball cards, and 45's.
C. has been fascinated with record albums since we were listening to some albums at Neena and Pappa's over Christmas. He and Daddy have also been online downloading a lot of Daddy's favorite older songs (Jim was excited to find an MP3 of Puff the Magic Dragon - I know I know - I don't even try to understand him.
Seems I have a muscle spasming in my hip so I spent the afternoon and evening watching birds that we have never seen before visit a dish of seed and pinecone feeders the kids and I had made one day when it was 70 DEGREES this week! Now it is snowing! The birds left them alone until the snow started today. Sleeting and blowing like crazy and these little bits were hopping around feasting all afternoon. I looked them up online to see what they were, and they are Juncos. Never in my life have I heard of them. K. was responsible for keeping the dish full and took it very seriously. They are back again this morning. It was so nice to be inside warm and cozy while wind and sleet hit the windows, filled with nostalgia as J. would helpd up a 45 and talk about this favorite song or that favorite song. Life is good.
